What’s involved in a Service?
When we come out to service your door, we work through a set checklist so nothing gets missed.
Full safety & visual inspection - We inspect every key component, including:
Springs, cables and drums
Rollers, hinges and brackets
Tracks and fixings
Weather seals and cladding
Safety devices and auto-reverse features
We’re checking for wear, corrosion, fatigue, alignment issues, and anything that could turn into a breakdown or safety risk.
Lubrication & noise reduction - We apply the correct silicone-based lubricants and/or high grade grease to reduce friction and wear. This helps the door run smoother, quieter, and puts less strain on the opener.
Door balance & spring tension - We test how the door lifts and lowers by hand to ensure it’s correctly balanced. If required, we adjust spring tension so the opener isn’t overworking every time it operates.
Opener & controls check - If you have an automatic opener, we:
Test travel limits and door forces
Check and adjust auto-reverse
Inspect the drive system (chain, belt, shaft, or direct drive)
Test remotes, wall stations and keypads
Minor settings are corrected during the visit.
Hardware tighten & Minor adjustments - We tighten loose fasteners, tidy up track alignment, and carry out small adjustments that improve daily performance.
Smart service records & Automatic reminders
Every door we service is recorded as its own asset in our system. This gives you a full history, including:
Door and opener make/model
Photos and notes from every visit
Parts replaced and adjustments made
Future recommendations
This makes future servicing faster, more accurate, and far easier to diagnose issues as the door ages. A full report is provide with each Service.

How often should my Door be serviced?
As a general guide:
Residential doors: every 12–24 months
High-use or commercial doors: every 6–12 months
If your door becomes noisy, jerky, heavy, or uneven, it’s best to get it checked sooner.
